Artist Biography

​

Koh Xin Abraham is an aspiring artist based in Singapore. He is currently in his final year studying for a diploma in Fine Arts at LASALLE College of the Arts. He specializes in drawing and painting.

 

Abraham’s good observation and spatial skills were first discovered in his early years as a child when he was encouraged to play with crayons and paints. As a young artist, he is intrigued by the different types of art styles, especially in the modern and contemporary genres.

 

Abraham uses bold saturated and contrasting colours together with lines which contribute to his unique style of painting. Themes revolving around personal experiences of family and the surroundings are shown in his bodies of work which engage, excite and inspire others. Some of them have received commendation awards at various art exhibitions and competitions.

Artist Statement

​

Drawing and painting transport him to a place of fantasy, excitement and possibilities.

​

He experiments with colours and lighting using mediums such as acrylic, watercolours, charcoal and ink to produce artworks that are semi-abstract. He draws inspiration from everyday scenes and he observes people around him to look beyond what seems to be ordinary.

​

He also explores assemblages and sculptures in my multidisciplinary art practice. This allows him to constantly develop his style, taking it to the next level, which sparks an emotional response in people.
